Clever Login
The Problem
Clever is a learning platform for K-12 schools that acts as single sign-on access to numerous educational applications.
Student sign-in options to access Clever include:
• Active Directory - Type username and password
• Clever Badge - Flash badge into device camera.
Due to the lack of literacy and digital literacy most Pre K - Kindergarten students cannot independently login using their user name and passwords. The level of support a student receives varies by household. The Clever badge is an easier alternative than typing in the password but it is inaccessible if students do not have a printer or second device to mirror it off of.
The Opportunity
• Clever can include an additional sign-on option: By Teacher. Students will be able to search their teachers username or their teacher can share their login link directly.
• Teachers could assign students icons (ie shapes) as usernames and icons (ie animals, foods, etc.) as password
• These small improvements to the sign in process can help male clever more accessible to all students.
Zoom
The Problem
Zoom is a video conferencing app used to conduct virtual school during the COVID 19 pandemic.
Primary (Pk - 2) Elementary school students are not able to utilize the Breakout Room feature without an additional adult present.
The Opportunity
Zoom should redesign their Breakout Room's to give teachers the ability to:
• Monitor all breakout rooms simultaneously,
• Listen in on conversations and mute groups
• Assign students to breakout rooms based on pre-populated groups ( ie. reading or ESOL groups.)
